Calgary bagel business shuts down for renovations

A popular spot for bagels in downtown Calgary will be closed for a month.

Paul Gill, Owner of Bagelino’s on 7 Street S.W., says they’re taking on some renovations.

“We’re just going to get a new interior look. We’re adding some items to our menu, getting a full espresso bar, we will be getting Rosso coffee and some high speed internet – just doing a complete facelift of our cafe,” he explained.

Bagelino’s has been in operation for 22 years.

“We’ve noticed that people are very particular, and people enjoy when everything is fresh and when it’s made in-house, when it’s local and when it’s family-owned. We did notice the downturn in the economy, so, that’s when the rainbow bagels came out. We wanted to get people happy again,” Gill said.

The business will re-open March 1.
